Proposed Bill To Grant Illegal Immigrants A Drivers Licence

Lawmakers will have a hearing on Feb 5th in regard to a bill proposed by the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition.

The bill would allow foreign-born residents living in the country illegally to be able to obtain Massachusetts drivers license. They say that would make Massachusetts roads more secure ensuring immigrants living in the country illegally are trained, licensed and insured.

Right now, Massachusetts law currently requires immigrants seeking a driver’s license to prove that they are in the country legally.
