Police Charge Pair With Three Armed Robberies
New Bedford Police say they've arrested two men who they say committed three armed robberies in the past ten days.
Twenty-six year old Ryan Stojack of Fairhaven and 29 year old Thomas Pendergast Jr of New Bedford were charged with three counts of armed robbery. Pendergast was also charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
In all three cases, Police say Stojack entered the establishments armed with a black firearm and got away with cash, while Pendergast drove the getaway car.
The pair are charged with the Oct. 18th robbery at the Xtra Mart on Durfee Street, October 25th at the Sunoco Station on Acushnet Avenue, and the stickup October 26th at Brooklawn Liquors on Ashley Boulevard.
The suspects were arrested Friday night when spotted on Coggeshall Street near the PetroMart. Police say they'll continue to investigate and more charges may be forthcoming.
