New Bedford South End Tenant Dispute Allegedly Turns Violent: Two Stabbed, Dog Injured

NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — Two people were stabbed and a dog was injured during an altercation in New Bedford's South End on Tuesday.

Salisbury Street Dispute Escalates Into Violence

According to New Bedford Police, officers responded to Salisbury Street at about 5 p.m. on July 14 for reports of a large altercation between tenants.

Multiple Injuries and Dog Hurt in Altercation

Police said officers arrived to find “several individuals” suffering from injuries that were not life-threatening. 

Two individuals sustained stab wounds, and three people were transported to the hospital for treatment. 

A dog also sustained a “facial injury” during the incident, according to police.

“The investigation determined the altercation stemmed from an ongoing dispute between tenants at the residence,” police said.

Arrests and Charges Filed Following Investigation

Keven Decarvalho, 32, was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and three counts of assault and battery. 

Chad Saddler, 32, was also arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

Tatyana Reyes, 30, and a juvenile were issued a summons to court on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.
