Patriots fans will finally get what they have wanted to see all season.  You've asked for it, you got it.  Drake Maye will be your starting quarterback Sunday afternoon against the #1 team in the AFC South, the Houston Texans.

"Drake is facing one of the best pass rushers in the league, but you hope that he can make some plays with his feet and kind of get out of some of that pressure with his athleticism," said Nick Coit from ABC 6.  "I think everybody's kind of buzzing about it because this is the kid that you took third overall in the draft. And here we are. Pats are sitting at one and four after a tough loss to the Dolphins.  They could use a spark offensively, so here we go. They're going to the kid."

Rookie Leader?

If you are a rookie on a football team, but you are certainly expected to be a leader, how does that resolve itself?  "It's a tough burden on your shoulders and a challenge," said Coit, but I think it comes with the position. If you're a quarterback, then the offense looks to you. You have the ball in your hands most of the time offensively, so you're expected to carry a heavy burden. It's tough for a team that's one and four putting a rookie in, because you're talking about expectations that are beyond just playing quarterback. They're expecting this kid to be the future of the franchise."

Will the Patriots Win on Sunday?

The move has finally been made.  The question remains, is this enough to get the Patriots back on the winning track?  Probably not, says Nick Coit.  "I would probably pick the Texans this week. They're on a great stretch.  They're 4-1. They're having a: great year so far. So it's a tough spot for the kid to come in, but you need a spark offensively.  If you can see a little bit of progress, if you can see them making a few throws, some flashes of that talent, then I think Patriots fans are going to be satisfied and happy."

So a win?  Probably not.  Are we heading in the right direction?  Hopefully, for the sake of Patriots fans.
