New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is making an impact both on and off the field. The NFL superstar is teaming up with a local organization next summer.

On May 30, 2026, Maye will lead the Best Buddies Challenge, serving as Honorary Chair to support those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The challenge offers a variety of events to participate in, including a 100-, 55-, or 20-mile bike ride from Boston to Cape Cod or a 5k walk/run along the beach in Hyannis Port.

What Is Best Buddies?

Best Buddies is a national nonprofit organization that is "dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)."

This includes those with autism, Down syndrome, Fragile X and other undiagnosed disabilities.

Where the Rides and Runs Begin

Join Drake Maye for an inspirational 5k walk/run in Hyannis Port on Saturday, May 30, 2026. The 100-mile ride begins at 8 a.m. at JFK Library and features five stops along the way. The 55-mile ride begins at 9:30 a.m. at the CVS in Carver and will make two stops.

The 20-mile ride departs CVS Sandwich at 10:30 a.m. and travels through to Hyannis Port with no rest stops along the way.

The 5k walk/run starts at 10:30 a.m. beginning and ending at Craigville Beach.
