Less than 24 hours after cutting their roster down to 53 men, the New England Patriots have made two moves already.

As is normally the case, when players are released on the final cut down day before the regular season, other teams may bid to claim them on waivers.

According to Patriots.com, New England claimed former Green Bay Packer defensive tackle Khyri Thornton, earlier today. The 2014 third round draft pick, spent all of his rookie season on Green Bay's injured reserve after suffering an ankle injury during the team's final preseason game. He was cut, Saturday as the Packers trimmed their roster to 53 men.

To make room on their 53-man roster, the Patriots released offensive tackle Cameron Fleming. The 6-6 320-pounder was originally drafted by New England in the fourth round of last year's draft.

Fleming most likely was expendable due to the team's length list of offensive linemen and the addition of tight end Michael Williams, who has experience playing offensive tackle as well.
