Four words that every foodie loves to hear is “All You Can Eat” and a new restaurant in Onset understood the assignment.

Onset Beach Patio & Grille recently celebrated its one-year anniversary and it looks to keep the celebrations going with its first annual Oysterfest on Saturday, May 27th.

Onset Beach Patio & Grille

What started as a tiny clam shack by the beach in 1895 is now a bustling restaurant owned by New York restaurateur Frank Evangelista.

“This is my sixth restaurant and my first one in Massachusetts,” he shared.
Evangelista owned several spots in New York before selling them and retiring to the SouthCoast, but truthfully, he wasn’t quite ready to throw in the towel.

“I needed something to do and it’s been amazing,” he said.

Now that Evangelista calls Onset home, he has made it a priority to get involved with the community and give back as much as possible.

“We do a lot of events and like to donate our time,” he said. “We’ve given back to the Wareham Free Library, we do a lot for the churches in town, we’ve donated to the police department…it’s been a lot of fun.”

Oysterfest at Onset Beach Patio & Grille

On May 27th, the restaurant is ready to show the community why its first year in Onset was so successful with an “All You Can Eat” Oysterfest. $50 gets you in the door, and from 11 am to 4 pm, you can eat as many oysters as you can handle. There will be live entertainment until closing time, an outdoor patio bar, beach seating, and a full menu in case you need a break from shucking.

Evangelista looks forward to growing the restaurant and getting more involved in the community by bonding over good food and good times.

“Onset is a homegrown, tight-knit town, it’s a hidden gem, and we’re super excited to grow with the community,” he said.

Only 100 tickets will be sold. Call Onset Beach Patio & Grille to get your tickets for its first annual Oysterfest while supplies last.
