Old Rochester Regional High School Giant Bulldog Stranded in Parking Lot
If you've been to Old Rochester Regional High School lately, you might have noticed something a little out of place.
You may or may not have put a finger on the slight change when walking through the front door to the main office, but perceptive visitors noticed that something was missing.
A big something, in fact.
The Old Rochester bulldog, which has been keeping guard at the entrance to the school for decades, was unceremoniously moved several weeks ago. The bulldog statue isn't too far from his normal spot, but it's far enough that he hasn't been moved back yet.
Word from students at Old Rochester is that members of the 2024 senior class moved the bulldog down a small hill and into the visitor's parking lot. They learned a real-life lesson in physics, however, when they realized that it was a whole lot easier to move the giant form down the hill and onto the pavement than it was to push him back up the hill to his normal spot.

The senior prank awakens memories of Greg Brady stealing the Coolidge High School mascot, a live goat, the "night before the big game" in The Brady Brunch. However, Greg took the sage advice of his father, Mike Brady, and returned the goat before he got in real trouble. If only Mr. Brady were on the scene, perhaps none of this would have happened in Mattapoisett.
Lucky for the participating seniors, the school's administration seems to be taking the incident in stride. If they wanted to play hardball, they may have tried to hold graduation day over the heads of the offenders. However, ORR graduation was last weekend, so that ship has sailed. The senior class received their diplomas and the bulldog still stands in the parking lot.
For now, there's no word on how the bulldog might be moved back to the school's entrance.
Maybe a contractor reading this article might be willing to lend a crew and equipment to move the bulldog without damaging him?
