Now Open, This Cranston Restaurant Is the Perfect Healthy Alternative When Eating Out
A new restaurant concept has opened its doors in Cranston, Rhode Island bringing a healthier alternative to the dining out scene.
On Tuesday, April 18th, sweetgreen was welcomed with open arms as the newest business in the Garden City Shopping Center (111 Hillside Rd, Cranston, RI) connecting people to real food by sourcing fresh produce daily. Located just 6 miles away from Brown University, sweetgreen will provide healthy and convenient food for students, professionals, and young families in the Providence area.
From crisp salads to warm bowls and savory entrees, there's something for all ages including kid's meals too.
Sweetgreen has increased its fleet of stores in to Rhode Island providing quality and sustainable ingredients to the local and greater Cranston community.
“We’re excited to be expanding our New England footprint and to provide the Cranston community with a new healthy and satisfying option,” said sweetgreen Co-Founder and CEO, Jonathan Neman. “We were drawn to Cranston because it's an active, thriving community where we think sweetgreen will flourish. We hope that our guests feel a deeper connection to real food every time they walk through our doors.”
A proper ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Chamber of Commerce commenced at 10:30 AM and guests were treated to complimentary giveaways from Sarcastic Sweets. Also, sweetgreen is donating meals to the Comprehensive Community Action Program to help combat food insecurity every time a customer purchases food on opening day only. CCAP provides quality health and human services to over 40,000 Rhode Islanders annually, so buying a meal goes a long way for the program.
The Cranston location will be open daily from 10:30 PM to 10 PM and accommodates up to 19 indoor diners with banquette seating and up to 16 people on their outdoor patio.
