New Taunton Adventure Park Gives Off Awesome Discovery Zone Vibes

If you were a '90s kid, you probably have some pretty awesome memories of Discovery Zone in Dartmouth Mall. Depending on your age, you may have even worked there.

Discovery Zone was a fun favorite for kids on the SouthCoast. It was located at the current H&M spot in the mall, and it was a place to go "DZ at Discovery Zone."

Now, more and more of those '90s kids are becoming parents, and they are missing Discovery Zone and wishing there was a place like it to bring their kids. Well, we have some news.

A Modern Day Discovery Zone

Fun 107 has learned that a new, modern-day Discovery Zone-like place has opened in Taunton. It is called Funcity Adventure Park.

Mai Chen's father is the owner of the park. She told us that it took about six months for her family to get the adventure park up and running.

"We're really excited for today," she said. "It's been a long time coming."

Funcity is located next to Target and Kohl's on Taunton Depot Drive. Chen says they chose that location because it had enough room for a toddler-exclusive area and an arcade area for teens.

What Do They Have at Funcity Adventure Park?

The new adventure park will have attractions such as a fun foam pit, trampoline pads a full human-sized bubble bumper ball court, multi-story slides that lead into a ball pit, a challenging "lava pit" challenge, a unique rock wall, a tube slide and a huge selection of interactive and video games such as ski ball, basketball Nerf and more.
