New Bedford is getting cozy for the holiday season as a couple of igloos have popped up at a popular Downtown bar.

The next time you're on the bottom of Union Street, take a gander over at Cultivator Shoals and see how they're preparing for the cooler weather. Two giant shear igloos have been installed on each side of the bar/restaurant's entrance, nestled away neatly on top of the cobblestone and brick sidewalk.

Co-owners of Cultivator- Al Santos and Howie Mallowes put their innovative brains together and brought something different and new to the table the city has yet to see.

These unique igloos are officially open to the public as of Monday, November 6th, and will soon be decked out with lights to add to the coziness. There are a total of three dining igloos, two up front and one in the back. They comfortably seat between 6-8 people and can hold up to a dozen if everyone stands.

Again, it's a neat way to embrace the colder nighttime temps while having a cocktail or a shared app with friends and friends.

Although these igloos are first come, first serve, you'll have better chances calling Cultivator Shoals ahead of time if you know how many people are in your party or simply use Google's online 'Open Table' booking service. The bar is open seven days a week, Monday-Sunday from 5:00 PM to Midnight.

The temps are dropping, but the nightlife is heating up at Cultivator Shoals inside their warm pop-up igloos.
