NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — New Bedford Police are investigating an apparent incident of shots fired in the area of the Blue Meadows housing complex.

According to New Bedford Police, patrol units responded to the area of 473 Dartmouth Street in response to a ShotSpotter activation at about 4:15 p.m. today.

That address is located in the Blue Meadows complex.

Police said that shell casings were found at the scene, along with property damage.

There were no injuries reported.

Police said the investigation is “very active” at this time.
