Due to a shortage on turkeys this year, New Bedford's Salvation Army is scrambling for turkeys.

Major Gilbert R. Parkhurst from The Salvation Army told Fun 107 that they usually collect about 400 turkeys to distribute to needy families. This year, however, they have only received approval for 48 turkeys due to a shortage.

The New Bedford Salvation Army is asking that you consider purchasing a couple of turkeys and donating them at the November Board meeting. You can also make a donation for them to purchase turkeys. Any help you can provide will help them make a difference in the life of a family during the upcoming holiday season.

You can call 508-997-6561 for more info on how to make a donation.
