NEW BEDFORD — Popular downtown eatery dNB Burgers has been broken into again.

New Bedford Police responded early Monday morning to a report that an item was thrown through a window at the restaurant, located at 22 Elm Street.

On its Facebook page, dNB Burgers says it was planning on opening "despite the vast number of windows that were smashed out." The post continued that the restaurant is "choosing not to be victims anymore," and says its security cameras caught images of the vandal that should help police identify the culprit.

Police say the incident remains under investigation.

It's not the first time dNB Burgers has been the target of vandals. The restaurant was vandalized twice in August of 2015. In the first instance, thieves broke a window and stole a safe. About two weeks later, the restaurant was again broken into and ransacked, with a small amount of cash taken.
