Members of the New Bedford Police Narcotics Unit have arrested three men during the past week, who were operating what police say were three separate fentanyl distribution services.

The latest arrest happened Monday when detectives seized more than 80 grams of fentanyl at 200 State Street in New Bedford. Arrested was the occupant, 32-year-old Frank Rivera.

On January 22, police carried out two raids, arresting 42-year-old Miguel Fuster at 27 Chestnut Street in New Bedford and 21-year-old Jose Rodriguez at 445 Dartmouth Street.

Police recovered more than 70 grams of fentanyl in those operations, along with 15 grams of cocaine and some oxycodone pills.

All three men were charged with trafficking in fentanyl and other drug-related charges.

“The New Bedford Police Department will continue to be relentless in 2019 in disrupting fentanyl distribution activity that is doing damage to our community, and that touches the lives of nearly every resident in some way,” said Deputy Police Chief Paul Oliveira.
