New Bedford Man Dies After Falling Through Roof of RI Food Bank

PROVIDENCE — A New Bedford man has died from injuries suffered when he fell through a hole in the roof of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank on Monday.

Multiple media outlets are reporting that 50-year-old Scott Simons, of New Bedford, fell about 40 feet onto a concrete floor at about 10:45 a.m.  Simons was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The Rhode Island Community Food Bank is located on Niantic Avenue in Providence.

The Providence Police Department and Providence Fire Department are investigating.
