New Bedford Man Arrested in Dartmouth on Drug Charges
DARTMOUTH — Police in Dartmouth have arrested a New Bedford man suspected of carrying fentanyl, cocaine, and ecstasy following a traffic stop.
Dartmouth Police spokesman Det. Kyle Costa said 27-year-old Carl Taylor is facing multiple drug possession charges.
According to Costa, Officer Caden Kehoe stopped a vehicle on State Road at around 10:36 p.m. Thursday night.
While speaking with the driver and the passenger, Kehoe allegedly saw suspected drugs inside the car.
Police said the officer then found suspected MDMA, known as ecstasy, and suspected cocaine during a search of the passenger's side compartment.
Taylor — who was the passenger in the vehicle — was arrested and taken to the police station, at which point officers allegedly found suspected fentanyl hidden on his person.
Costa said police also found and seized an electronic scale, plastic baggies, and $510 in cash.
Taylor is charged with possessing a class A and class B drug, and possessing with intent to distribute a class B drug.
