New Bedford Men Arrested After Violent Altercation at Auto Shop
NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — Two New Bedford men are facing charges after a dispute at an automotive shop allegedly turned physical.
On Friday, February 16, police responded to 1593 Cove Road regarding shots fired.
Officers said that an argument between two men escalated into a physical altercation. The shop owner, Thomas Vinagre, 39, allegedly physically confronted Dallas Chace, 24.
Police said Chace allegedly took out a firearm during the fight that was discharged twice. Nobody was struck, and a customer called for police assistance.
According to authorities, Chace was licensed to carry the firearm but was arrested and charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm and two counts of attempt to commit assault and battery.
A charge has also been requested on Vinagre for assault and battery on Chace.
