Nearly $20K in Heroin, Marijuana found in New Bedford Apartment

A husband and wife are arrested after New Bedford Police find a large amount of drugs in their apartment.

New Bedford Police executed a search warrant at 113 Reynolds Street, Apartment 1 in the North End Saturday afternoon after an investigation into a heroin delivery service being run out of the home.

During the search, police recoverd nearly 200 grams of heroin, over 50 grams of marijuana, and $8,000 in cash. The drugs have an estimated street value of $19,000.

Police arrested 38-year-old Jose Alberto Santiago, and his wife, 35-year-old Desaree Sanchez. Both have been arraigned on drug trafficking charges in New Bedford District Court.
