Miley Cyrus Performs on ‘Today’ show, Says She Doesn’t Plan to Offend

Despite all the controversy surrounding her live performance at the VMA's, and her risque music videos, Miley Cyrus is a huge star right now.

She sat down with Matt Lauer on the "Today" Show and talked about how she is trying to get past the image of being a child star, and move onto to being a serious adult artist.

When asked if she was surprised by all the attention, she said no. This is something that Miley wants, being that she is an artist. The fact that people are still talking about the VMA's about a month later is proof that Miley is doing things right. She has all the attention, she's ruling the music charts, and her live performances have been great.

She told Matt Lauer that she is the happiest she has ever been right now. Miley also addressed the Sinead O'Connor controversy, saying that she is a big fan and can't believe how crazy things got.
