Rhode Island Gets the Spotlight on Today with Hoda and Jenna

When a tourist thinks of Rhode Island, a person will think of historic Downtown Newport or the always charming town of Bristol, but Ellwood decided to hone in on Warwick.

“I’m going to take you back in time,” he said to Hoda and Jenna. “I want you to imagine when Rhode Island was full of textile magnets with wealth and magnificent lifestyles. They built an incredible set of houses there.”

Ellwood specifically mentioned Clouds Hill, a historic museum in Warwick that acts as a portal back in time.

“(It) is decorated like Victoriana every Christmas, so you get to step back in time,” he said.

Throw in the holiday parades and special events in Newport and Providence, Rhode Island is always a good idea for a quick trip during the holiday season.

The Loom Hotel in Rhode Island

When planning a vacation to Rhode Island, Ellwood recommended the Loom Hotel, a new hotel in Warwick that pays homage to the state’s history.

“Fruit of the Loom started in Warwick, the ‘Textile City’. This was the old Fruit of the Loom Factory,” he explained.

The hotel’s urban and chic design was inspired by its rich textile mill history and offers a pleasant stay for all seasons.

For any tourist planning a trip to Little Rhody after seeing the latest segment with Hoda and Jenna, heed my warning: prepare for a lot of traffic, expect Dunkin’s on every corner, and get ready to fall head over heels for the food.

Happy traveling!
