Southwick's Zoo in Mendon, Massachusetts has welcomed two new addition to its cheetah coalition (the technical term for a group of cheetahs).

Welcome to the Zoo

Though the cubs were born in early May, the zoo just recently shared the news to its Facebook page.

"These precious cubs are healthy, thriving, and under expert care," the zoo posted.

Caring for Cheetah Cubs

The zoo's Facebook page not only shared the excitement, but an update on the new family.

"Shortly after giving birth Nya experienced complications and rejected the litter – which as a first-time mom is not an uncommon behavior in cheetahs," the zoo posted. "Our incredible team then stepped in to provide round-the-clock care, ensuring the cubs’ health, safety, and development."

You won't see the cubs just yet as they are continuing their care and growth, but the team at Southwick's Zoo anticipates an appearance later this summer.

A Big Year for Southwick's Zoo

Not only is the excitement high for the new additions, a big milestone is being celebrated this year at Southwick's Zoo.

The Mendon zoo is celebrating 60 years of fascinating animals and family fun.
