Jaws Celebrates 50th Anniversary
The 1975 blockbuster caused panic for beachgoers for years to follow. The shark attacks and blood-filled waters depicted in the film left little to the imagination for swimmers.
It's been 50 years and Jaws still holds up. From Quint crushing the beer can to the iconic phrase "I think we need a bigger boat," the film has so many memorable scenes.
The backdrop of the film is our own backyard. Martha's Vineyard was thrust into the Hollywood spotlight as the production crews took over to transform the summertime hotspot into Amity Island.
Martha's Vineyard was among the many locations that celebrated the film's anniversary this summer.
