We're right around the corner from Harbor Days in Mattapoisett, and with it comes one of my favorite Mattapoisett events. The Taste of the Town is the lead into Harbor Days, and if you are a person who enjoys sampling food, it is a can't miss event.

The Taste of Town is presented each year by the Mattapoisett Women's Club.
This year's event is happening on Tuesday, July 16th from 5pm-7pm. This yearly Mattapoisett event features one of a kind dishes from 13 restaurants in town that is enjoyed both by "townies" and by out of towners alike. There will be some live music, a range of entertainment, and socializing to benefit scholarships and non-profits in the Greater New Bedford community.

At only $10 for 20 tickets, it is a no-brainer to clear your Tuesday evening. Tickets are only available for purchase at the event. No reservations are necessary to enjoy the best food with the best people for the best cause. Table bouquets and vases are also available for only $5 and they make a great gift for any loved one.

We recommend parking at St. Anthony's Church. From there, you could take a short walk and enjoy the historical homes of Mattapoisett Village, or take the free shuttle bus that will drop you off in front of Shipyard Park, the site of the Taste of the Town. There is also a shuttle bus available from Mattapoisett Town Beach.

The event takes place under a massive tent, so it will be held rain or shine.

Whether you take a stroll through the small village, check out the historic Shipyard Park, a well-known whale shipbuilding during the nineteenth centuries, or take in some live performances by "The Showstoppers", you're sure to enjoy your night out.
