Another SouthCoast establishment has closed its doors.

A Sweet Farewell

Magpies in Mattapoisett is sharing its gratitude to the community that has kept them going for years.

A recent Facebook post shared a heartfelt farewell. "THANK YOU for (almost) 5 years of joy and laughter and tears and friendship," Magpies shared.

However, as the saying goes, when one door closes, another door opens. Former owner Jenni Strand is hoping another baker is the one to do so.

Strand on Selling Magpies in Mattapoisett

"I’m dedicated to finding a fabulous person to take over that lovely little space and I really hope I’m able to make that happen," Strand said.

Her labor of love produced eclairs, muffins, cookies, cakes, breads and more delicious pastries over the years.

Strand is hoping another inspiring baker/business owner will find similar success.

"This sweet space is outfitted with everything needed for the next bakery owner to jump right in and start creating," Strand posted.

"I loved (and miss) the people I met, being my own boss, and getting to be creative every single day," Strand said.
