Massachusetts Has Lots of Options for Fall Hayrides
Have you ever been on a hayride?
Hayrides can be pretty cool if done right and done with the right people. There is nothing like snuggling up under a blanket in the hay with your honey as a horse or two clip-clops slowly down a dark country road on a crisp fall evening.
The smell of freshly-mowed hay and smoke from a not-so-distant chimney or firepit under a star-covered sky is the stuff of Lifetime Network movies.
There is information online about pumpkin patches, apple picking and corn mazes, but few articles or websites about hayrides. So, I thought I'd write one.
Newenglandfallevents.com has information about pumpkins, apples and mazes and includes information about hayrides in all six New England states.
The site says, "Everyone knows that a bumpy hayride is the quintessential New England activity in the fall for families and couples alike."
Newengalndfallevents.com has a list of some of the locations that offer hayrides in Massachusetts during the fall. There is also a link to a Haunted Hayride guide for Halloween season thrill seekers.
If your favorite hayride is not listed, email Newenglandfallevents.com and tell them about it.
The site also has information about hayrides and other fun fall things to do in Rhode Island and Connecticut.
Pumkinpatchesandmore.org is also a good source for fall activities throughout Massachusetts. To see a complete listing of fall events and activities, visit Visitma.com. Websterfirst.com offers a guide to its 10 Best Fall Festivals in Massachusetts.
How about checking out New England's fall foliage from up in the air in a hot air balloon? There are plenty of options for that as well.
