According to reports, Petyoshin robbed over $20,000 in cash then allegedly fled the scene in a bank customer's vehicle after taking their keys. Police say he then boarded a 1:15 p.m. ferry back to Martha's Vineyard.

Petyoshin was also arrested and charged in connection with the robbery on May 23 after police searched his residence in Edgartown, Massachusetts, and recovered thousands of dollars in cash that was bundled together in Rockland Trust bands.

In their recovery, police also found zip ties and clothing that Petyoshin was seen wearing on surveillance. Fifty-seven firearms and a large quantity of ammunition were also captured during the search.

During the investigation police also determined that the Facebook page for Petyoshin’s clothing store, Dapper Martha’s Vineyard, displayed photos of the same jacket, sunglasses, and wig he wore during the bank robbery.
