Market Basket New Bedford Was The First Clue The Storm Was A Bust
This was the scene at Market Basket New Bedford last night at 5pm. It was the first sign that something was amiss with the storm that never was.
It never fails. My wife will always send me to the grocery store during peak times. The day before Thanksgiving, two hours before a Patriots kickoff, the evening before a snowstorm...if it's going to be cray cray at the grocery store...this guy is there!
She sent me out last night to buy Ragu sauce and some hamburger, but when I got to Market Basket, got a parking spot right up front. "Weird," I thought. My prime parking space was not as weird as when I walked inside, however. Market Basket was a ghost town. I've never seen it so empty...I just couldn't believe it.
This was the first indication that the storm was going to be a bust.
The meteorologists have their fancy computer models. Maybe all they need is a quick walk up and down the aisles of Market Basket.
