Marion Mourns the Loss of Teen Singer Nolan Gibbons
A heart-wrenching story from Marion, as the parents of 15-year-old Nolan Gibbons are mourning the loss of their son. Nolan's mother broke the terrible news on her Facebook page late last night:
We are devastated to share with you the news of the tragic and completely unexpected death of our beloved son, Nolan Gibbons. He died in his sleep early this morning at our home here in Marion, MA. To say that this is a shock is a vast understatement. As a family, we have not even begun to fathom what his loss will mean to us as his parents, to his family, and to his wonderful community of friends. –Nolan's mother, Sheila
Nolan was a member of Acapop! KIDS, a junior version of the very popular Pentatonix music group. Nolan appeared on Fun 107 earlier this year to talk about how excited he was to visit Kelly Clarkson back in January. After the performance, the original American Idol went backstage to tell the performers in Acapop! KIDS that their performance brought her "to tears."
Former Miss Massachusetts and current Marion resident Jillian Zucco remembered Nolan last night:
You will never know the impact you’ve made on me, your community, and now the whole world through Acapop. I feel totally blessed to have known your beautiful smile, your incredible talent, and your kind soul. Showstoppers will never be the same. You are SO loved and have left us completely devastated. – Jillian Zucco
Nolan had been juggling his music career while holding down a full schedule of classes at Old Rochester Regional High School. He was entering his sophomore year.
