Marion Farmers Market Launching Inaugural Season
Spring is here, warm weather is coming and that means local farms will soon be producing some delicious fruits, vegetables and other locally-grown products.
Marion, Massachusetts will welcome customers to its new farmer's market at Washburn Park this spring/summer season.
"It's a venture I thought would be fun and help the community and also help the land trust," said Meredith Mattson-Days, President of Charles R. Washburn Memorial Trust.
The idea began back in October and quickly became a reality with vendors lined up for their opening date.
Support SouthCoast Businesses By Shopping Local
On Tuesdays starting May 27, visitors can shop local produce, plants, flowers, honey, meat, eggs, spices, jellies and more.
Funds from sales will not only benefit the local vendors, farmers and artisans, but the land as well.
While there will be much offered, there's still time for more local vendors to be part of the action.
"The park has plenty of space" says Mattson-Days. She wants to make sure a wide variety is offered so that all vendors will prosper.

Sign Up to Be a Vendor
However, if you're a local craftsman, artist, musician or have a unique specialty and want to be part of the Farmers Market, fill out a vendor application.
"My hopes are to make it a weekly event where people can come and shop and I want to make it very family-friendly," Matteson-Days said.
With vendors, food trucks, face painting, live music and more, there will be plenty to do, see and shop at the Washburn Trust Farmers Market.
Washburn Park will play host to the Farmers Market from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays from May 27 through October 7, rain or shine.
