Marion Police Department Welcomes New Officer from the North Pole
We’ve all heard of Elf on a Shelf, but a local police department has decided to put its own twist on this beloved holiday tradition.
On Friday, the Marion Police Department introduced its very own elf on the shelf, and this little elf has a very important job to do.
Meet Cruiser, Marion PD’s official elf on the shelf.
“Transferring in from the North Pole, Cruiser has joined the ranks of MPF for a temporary month-long assignment to see who has been on the naughty and nice lists,” said the department.
Cruiser has been a very busy elf already. She has completed her field training and has been officially sworn in. She even ditched her usual elf attire for the smallest police uniform ever distributed.
According to Marion PD, Cruiser’s job is to sprinkle holiday cheer around town and keep an eye on the kids of Marion.
“If you happen to see Cruiser out on patrol, please give her a warm Marion welcome,” said the department.
Elves are known to be a little mischievous this time of year, so the department plans on sharing her “elf antics” online.
From the looks of it, Cruiser seems to be keeping a watchful eye on the toy donations in the station lobby as the department continues to collect new, unwrapped toys for the Justice Resource Institute.
Looks like Marion is in good hands this holiday season.
