Make Your Way To Patriots Place For Free Family Fun This Week
Need a last minute April vacation idea? Patriots Place at Gillette Stadium has new ones every day, with a week of free activities, dance parties and story times for the kids.
It might be hard to pick just one day to make the trip to Gillette Stadium this week, because they've packed April vacation with hours of fun. Of course there are the shops and restaurants themselves to enjoy, not to mention the movie theater, bowling alley and gaming center.
Yet outside the regular fun to be had at the shopping center, April vacation brings a new free family friendly activity each day.
It all start Monday April 17, when dinosaurs from the new Dinosaurs Among Us event at Roger Williams Park zoo appear on the Dean College Stage from noon-1:30 P.M. Life-sized moving dinosaurs will be meeting and greeting dino lovers, plus you can snap pictures with a baby dinosaur and even try to win tickets to the zoo's epic new event.
On Tuesday April 18, you could win tickets to see Taylor Swift's sold out Eras Tour during a Taylor Swift Favorite Era Party at the Dean College Stage at 4 P.M. Come dressed as your favorite Taylor era and you could win your way to her show when it hits Gillette this summer.
Keep your dancing shoes handy for Wednesday April 19 for a kids line dancing lesson at the Six String Grill & Stage starts at 1 P.M. Kids aged 5-16 can learn a variety of line dances at two different sessions that are totally free. Registration is encouraged.
Thursday April 20 has two family friendly events. First is a kids character story time at 10A.M. with Mirabel from Encanto. Mirabel will be reading, chatting with kids and leading a dance party near the Patriots Proshop and yes, registration for this event is encouraged too.
Then head back for the Cruise Night with the Mass Cruisers Auto Club starting at 4 P.M. In the parking lot near the Bass Pro Shops hundreds of classic cars will be on display for free.
Patriots Place isn't done yet however. On Friday April 21 enjoy a free concert from Lily James & Wildheart on the Dean College Stage from 4P.M. - 7 P.M. Then end your week with a hike around the Ocean Spray Cranberry Bog located behind Bass Pro Shops.
Mass Audubon will host this 1/2 mile Earth Day hike where instructors will educate hikers on the bog and surrounding nature trail. Hikers are advised to wear comfy shoes and bring a water bottle, plus registration is encouraged for this event too.
On top of all this, the Patriots Hall of Fame has their own week of events planned and the Crazy Axes mobile axe throwing will be on site all week to promote the new axe throwing venue opening this fall.
Add to that the new Harp location opening at Patriots Place this year and clearly there is a lot going on at Gillette that has nothing to do with football.
