Foxboro’s Patriot Place to Welcome Beloved Boston Bar Above Gillette Stadium

Foxboro’s Patriot Place is teaming up with one of Boston’s most beloved sports bars, as The Harp will be opening a second location in the spot overlooking Gillette Stadium that was formerly occupied by CBS Sporting Club.

It is expected to open later this year.

Back in January, we broke the news that CBS Sporting Club was permanently closing, and at the time Patriot Place spokesperson Julia Pagliarulo told us it was being closed “in order to accommodate a new concept.”

Patriot Place shared the news this week that The Harp would be that concept. It’s a natural fit for Gillette Stadium, since The Harp’s original Causeway Street location has been a must-visit for anyone attending TD Garden over the past 30 years.

It will be operated by Briar Group, which already operates Six String Grill & Stage at Patriot Place, as well as numerous other bars and restaurants.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have this opportunity,” Briar Group CEO Austin O’Connor said in a release. “We’ve committed ourselves to bring the same energy The Harp is known for to Patriot Place, and to continue the tradition in Boston for many years to come.”

The Harp will be located in the area of the north end zone of Gillette Stadium, which is currently undergoing a $225 million renovation expected to be completed before the start of the upcoming NFL season.

“We’re beyond excited to continue our strong partnership with Briar Group to bring The Harp to Patriot Place,” Brian Earley, Vice President and General Manager of Patriot Place, said in a release.

“With an unbeatable combination of delicious food, passion for Boston sports and extraordinary view of New England’s premier sports stadium, The Harp will be the everyday, go-to sports bar for an exciting game viewing experience and an essential part of every game day, concert night and everything in between," he said.

The space first opened as CBS Scene in 2008, a themed restaurant based on classic CBS programming such as I Love Lucy and The Twilight Zone. there as a CBS-themed gift shop, and televisions at each table with on-demand viewing of classic CBS shows.

In 2018, the restaurant closed for six months and underwent renovations and a name change, reopening in July of that year as the CBS Sporting Club, becoming a sports bar. It lasted until the end of this past Patriots season.
