The first ever Rhode Island Recovery Fest is coming to McCoy Stadium, and Macklemore has announced that he will be the headliner.

In a video released by the Pawtucket Red Sox, Macklemore speaks about his own recovery and his desire to help others with theirs. Which is why he will be performing on September 29 at McCoy Stadium as headliner of this music festival.

The PawSox, in conjunction with the Above the Noise Foundation, are putting on this first-ever music festival aimed at raising funds and awareness. Above the Noise hosts drug-and-alcohol free music festivals aimed at empowering and inspiring, as well as providing funds for U.S. cities battling the national addiction epidemic.

This show will not only feature Macklemore, but also Fitz and the Tantrums, local act PVRIS, local blues artist James Montgomery and more.

Gates will open at 4 p.m., with the show kicking off at 5 p.m. Then the crowd can kick back and enjoy an evening of live music for a good cause.

Tickets start at $59 and are on sale now. You can buy them at the McCoy Stadium box office, online at pawsox.com or by calling (401) 724-7300. There are also VIP packages available with the opportunity to meet the artists.

The event will of course be an alcohol free one, with no beer or wine sold on site that night.

Proceeds from this Above the Noise event will help fund more than 75 recovery centers and non-profit organizations in New England and the Tri-State areas.
