Lenny Clarke Ready to Bring the Laughs to White’s of Westport

One of Boston's most prolific comedians is coming to the SouthCoast this weekend.

The star-studded SouthCoast Comedy Series continues at White’s of Westport on Saturday, May 4 with the legendary Lenny Clarke.

After growing up as one of eight kids in his family in Cambridge, Clarke worked as a janitor to put himself through UMass Boston before beginning his comedy career during an open mic comedy night at the legendary Ding Ho Restaurant.

By the mid-80s, he became one of Boston’s most famous comics, touring the country alongside Sam Kinison, Denis Leary, Don Gavin and Steve Sweeney. It wasn’t long before Hollywood came calling, and Clarke was given his own network sitcom Lenny in 1990. He also appeared on such TV shows as Contest Searchlight, The Job, The John Larroquette Show and It's All Relative, and in movies like Monument Ave, Fever Pitch and Southie.

From 2004 to 2011, Clarke appeared in the recurring role of Uncle Teddy on the FX comedy-drama Rescue Me, alongside his good friend Leary. Since then he has had recurring roles on Burn Notice, Are You There Chelsea with Chelsea Handler and the famed USA series Sirens.

Clarke has many projects coming out in the upcoming months. You can see him in Stronger, the Boston Marathon movie with Jake Gyllenhaal and in his first dramatic role, he stars in the independent film Shepherds Maiden.

Now, Clarke is coming to Westport to perform as part of the SouthCoast Comedy Series on Saturday, May 4.

Also joining Lenny Clarke for J. Marshall & Associates Night is Paul D'Angelo. Under his real name, Paul Murphy, he spent almost 11 years as an Assistant District Attorney while performing at night as "Paul D'Angelo." He's been featured on Showtime's The Godfathers of Comedy and is the author of two award-winning books.
