LAKEVILLE — A car crash on Route 18 in Lakeville sent two people to the hospital with injuries, according to the town's fire department.

The department stated in a Facebook post on Thursday morning that a Jeep and a minivan collided at the intersection of Bedford Street and Kenneth Welch Drive, trapping the vehicle occupants inside.

Fire crews arrived and provided advanced life support medical care to one man, who was taken by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital for further treatment.

Another man was wedged inside his vehicle due to the position of the first vehicle and the guardrail, the post stated.

Crews were able to extricate him only after a tow truck arrived and pulled the empty vehicle off the second one.

Once extricated, the man was taken by ambulance to Morton Hospital.

The post did not state exactly when the crash took place, or how many people were involved.

The current condition of the men involved in the crash is also unknown.

Lakeville Fire Department officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
