The Beavertail Lighthouse Museum is accessible and offers educational programs, displays and artifacts from the third-oldest lighthouse in North America. Beavertail Lighthouse was built in 1856 and is the premier lighthouse in Rhode Island.

Historic and quaint downtown Jamestown is a great place to shop and grab a bite to eat. There are great views of Newport's Fort Adam's State Park and Newport across Narragansett Bay and the Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge, which serves as a backdrop for some great selfies.

Jamestown and Beavertail State Park are less than an hour from New Bedford by car, and together they make for a sensational daycation for the entire family – including the dog.

A Walk Down the Pond Trail of Easton's Borderland State Park

Borderland State Park, which is located in the towns of Easton and Sharon, features 1,843 acres of land and miles of walking and hiking trails surrounding a nature and history preserve. Take a trip with us down the park’s Pond Trail, stopping to visit the 1880 Smith Farmhouse and the 1910 Ames Mansion along the way.
