Is ‘The Writing on the Wall’ for French Montana? [WICKED OR WHACK?]
French Montana has been one busy dude lately. He recently teamed up with K-Pop sensation Monsta-X for a song called "Who Do U Love?"
French has always given up chill vibes that I think are influenced by his homeland of Morocco. At least, I like to think they are. French migrated to the United States when he was 13 years old.
He has collaborated with some really notable artists in the past but has truly outdone himself with this trio of collaborators.
The song is called "Writing on the Wall" and it features two of the hottest names in the business right now, Cardi B and Post Malone.
The song wasn't a first listen for me. I had to listen to it in my car a few times. If you missed me playing it in my "Wicked or Whack?" segment on air, here it is:
Good vibes, right? Something about Cardi B that makes the song for me. Which reminds me, have you see Cardi in the Hustlers movie? She makes it and truly plays herself perfectly. I'm not sure they give away awards for being yourself but she nails it and it's probably the only time in the film that I laughed – no offense, J. Lo.
Now is your time to tell us what you think. Be honest. Is this song something you could get down with? Or does Cardi B need to stop dropping verses on everyone's songs? Tell us, do you think this French Montana song is wicked good or totally whack? You help us decide whether we should add it to the Fun 107 playlist.
