I'll be the first to admit it. When I first saw the "new" Colonel Sanders, played by Saturday Night Live impressionist Darrell Hammond, I was perplexed. My immediate reaction was, "That was weird. Creepy, even." But after seeing the Kentucky Fried Chicken commercials a few times, they got to me. I can't get through one of these commercials without exploding into uncontrollable laughter. I think they're hilarious!

However, after several months of complaints from the American public that The Colonel was creepy, the big-wigs at KFC decided to replace Hammond with fellow SNL veteran, Norm Macdonald.

I've seen the new commercials, and I'm not a fan. Macdonald, while not creepy, just isn't funny. And he's never been a good actor, to boot. Don't get me wrong, I love Norm Macdonald. His off-beat, ill-timed humor appeals to me. But it takes some warming up to.

The point is, KFC got rid of the "creepy factor" when I think they didn't need to. Sure, I thought The Colonel was creepy at first, but I soon saw past that and concluded that KFC was going for a hokey caricature of the real Colonel Harland David Sanders.

I say bring back the original "new" Colonel Sanders!
