Hurricane Michael has left parts Florida ravaged and many people, as well as pets, without a place to live. Now you can help find a new home for many dogs displaced by the storm.

The Potter League for Animals in Middletown, RI has taken in ten dogs and they will soon be available for adoption.

The dogs, who were living in shelters in Florida before the hurricane hit, arrived in Rhode Island Tuesday afternoon from Birmingham, Alabama and must be held in isolation for five days before they will be available to adopt.

According to WPRI 12, the Potter League also took in several dogs ahead of Hurricane Florence and last year they took in dogs from Hurricane Maria as well.

All of the dogs have already had their shots, so in about a week you can visit the Potter League for Animals to visit with them and possibly take one home.

Currently there are plenty of other animals available for adoption at the Middletown animal shelter and with October being Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, now may be the perfect time to add to your family.
