Here’s Your Chance to Train to Be a Lifeguard in New Bedford
Looking for a summer job? Have you always wanted to be a lifeguard at a local pool, water park or beach?
The YMCA of New Bedford is offering a lifeguard course beginning Monday, April 23. The classes will run on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. until June 17.
Participants must be 16 years of age or older, and must be able to swim confidently in all strokes, and for a lengthy period of time.
Those who complete the course will receive YMCA of the USA lifeguard certification, CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and First Aid certification.
The fee for the class is $350. If you pass the course and are hired by the YMCA as a lifeguard and work through the summer, you will get one-third of the course cost reimbursed to you.
Class registration is open now until April 20. To sign up, call the New Bedford YMCA at (508) 997-0734, stop by the front desk or visit their website.
