Harrison Ford Spotted at These Westport Locations
Many celebrities have been spotted over the years on the SouthCoast.
There was always talk about Christopher Reeve landing his plane at New Bedford Regional Airport and sailing his boat out of Fairhaven. We've seen David Duchovny and Tea Leoni bopping around Padanaram. James Spader is a regular in Marion. Heck, we've even seen Ice T getting dragged around by his wife at Taunton Antiques Center.
One of the very biggest stars said to frequent the SouthCoast, however, was Harrison Ford.
Talk about an A-lister.
Ford has starred in some of the most iconic movie franchises in Hollywood history. His roles as Star Wars' Han Solo and Indiana Jones have spanned decades.
When it was time to get away from it all, Ford apparently chose to vacation in Westport. Not Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket. Not Palm Springs. Westport.
There was something about the town that drew Ford back a number of times in the '90s.
Could it have been the proximity to the New Bedford airport? Ford had started the process of obtaining a pilot's license back when he was in college in the 1960s, but he didn't complete his training until the '90s. Maybe Ford enjoyed using his newly secured pilot's license to fly his small plane to his vacation spot.

Judging from the Westport callers we got about this on Michael and Maddie, the Fun 107 morning show, it probably had a lot to do with town residents' ability to keep lips sealed. Multiple callers suggested that they'd flat out deny Ford owned a home or vacationed in the seaside town.
Here's a list of some of the Westport -- and Little Compton, Rhode Island -- spots where callers and commenters told us (without offering much in the way of proof) they'd seen the legendary actor over the years:
