Enjoy Classic Halloween Movies for Free in October at Star Drive-In in Taunton
Looking for something spooky to do? The Star Drive-In in Taunton is bringing back a special edition of “Movies Under the Stars” for the fall season. Watch all your favorite scary movies on the big screen for free, every Saturday in October starting Oct. 1.
The Star Drive-In may sound like a vintage drive-in theater, but it’s actually a nostalgic 1960s drive-in restaurant. Best known for its seafood and ice cream, Star Drive-In offers a delicious menu in its timeless, retro setting on Myricks Street in Taunton.
Movies Under the Stars
Every Saturday starting in May, as the sun goes down, the restaurant brings out a 20-foot screen for a night of free, family entertainment, paired with high-definition Blu-ray players to enhance the viewing experience, and Yamaha Surround Sound to fully immerse yourself in the movie experience.
Erika Madden purchased the restaurant in 2016 and has been entertaining families every Saturday night since.
“The feedback has always been great from the community,” said Emma Fryer, a cashier of two years at the restaurant.
Halloween Movies Under the Stars
Starting Oct. 1, every Saturday will be a different Halloween movie. All you have to do is bring a folding chair and some blankets, and Star Drive-In supplies the rest. The movie is free, allowing guests to buy the important stuff, like jumbo pretzels, popcorn, hot chocolate and more.
