A little over a year after the deadly attack at the Silver City Galleria in Taunton, the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School has set up a tribute to their beloved teacher, the late George Heath.

Mr. Heath was a teacher at GNBVT who is credited as being one of the heroes who stepped in to save other patrons who were dining in Bertucci's that night in May of 2016.

Rosemary Heath shared the news on Twitter last night saying, "Thank you GNBVT I love the final tribute to my hubby! It's BEAUTIFUL Placed in front of his Cherry Blossom #GeorgeHeathHero"

The memorial includes a cherry blossom tree and the prestigious Carnegie Hero Award, which Mr. Heath was given after his death.

The Carnegie Hero Fund was established to recognize people who perform extraordinary acts of heroism in civilian life.

George Heath will never be forgotten, his incredible attitude towards life will forever be felt in the halls of GNBVT...  And let's not forget Mrs. Heath was also a hero that night.
