Foxboro’s Gillette Stadium Was Quietly Taken Over by Kegs
The moment I stepped onto the field at Gillette Stadium for the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl Sendoff Rally, something immediately stopped me in my tracks — and it wasn’t the stage or the crowd. It was the bleachers.
Instead of fans filling the seats, hundreds upon hundreds of silver beer kegs were stacked neatly in entire sections of the stadium. At first glance, it honestly looked like the world’s coldest tailgate had taken over Gillette. Naturally, I had questions.
As I stood there taking it all in, I couldn’t help but wonder what the plan was. Were these props? Decorations? Some kind of very ambitious after-party setup? The answer turned out to be a lot more fun than I expected.

The display was part of Bud Light’s “City of Kegs” promotion, celebrating the New England Patriots’ and Seattle Seahawks’ runs to Super Bowl LX.
Why the Kegs Took Over the Stadium
Fans were able to interact with the kegs for a chance to win prizes ranging from free beer and cash to Patriots tickets – all leading up to the big game. The contest was open to anyone attending the event, regardless of team loyalty, as long as participants were 21 or older.
A Local Winner With a Super Bowl Ticket
The grand prize winner was Duncan from Dighton, who scored a trip for two to the Super Bowl. What started as confusion turned into one of the most unexpected highlights of an unforgettable day.
