Ever wonder what it takes to make a Broadway production happen? Now you can see for yourself at the Providence Performing Arts Center.

The sets, the costumes, the lighting. It all comes together to make a flawless night at the theater when things go right. But what does it really take to make it all come together?

Plenty of people have wondered that question and now the Providence Performing Arts Center can help you get the answer.

On Saturday February 1, the iconic Providence theater is hosting Curtains Up: Peek Behind-the Scenes at PPAC!

It's a chance for people to see the inner workings of this nearly 100 year old theater and tour spots most theater-goers never get to see.

The open house style event is absolutely free as well. No tickets needed on February 1. Just be there between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to do what organizers describe as

- Admire the intricacies and grandeur of the historic interiors,
-- explore the projection booth for truly unique views of the theatre below
-- Step onstage and behind the curtains to see the mechanics of PPAC’s acclaimed productions
-- Experience the powerful and reverberating sounds of the theatre’s 1927 mighty 5-manual Wurlitzer pipe organ, one of only three of its kind ever made and meet house organist Peter Krasinski

There is a lot of history in this building, going from the largest movie palace in Southern New England at it's opening in 1928 to it's remodel and rebirth as Rhode Island's premier Broadway theater.

There will be a lot to see at this free event at PPAC.
