And just like that, my "mini-vacation" is over.

Since May 7, the day my son was born, I stepped away from work and the outside world to reset and soak in every moment with my new little family. After weeks of diaper changes, midnight feedings and heart-melting cuddles, I returned to work on Monday, June 9.

I may not have gotten much sleep, but the time I spent at home was priceless. Every long day and sleepless night was worth it.

Now, here I am, a new dad back on the grind, ready to provide for my wife and son. I won’t lie, it was tough leaving the house that first morning. Not just because I was running on fumes, but because I had a full-blown case of FOMO (fear of missing out). I didn’t want to miss a single coo, yawn or sleepy smile.

The past month was all about routine: feedings, burping, naps and repeating it all over again. It’s a rhythm that only parents truly understand, and stepping away from it, even for a few hours, was hard. However, it’s part of the journey, and I’m walking into this next chapter with open arms.

As for my wife, she’s been an absolute rockstar. Still on maternity leave and adjusting to motherhood one day at a time, she’s holding down the fort like a champ. I’ll admit, there’s going to be a layer of guilt when I leave each morning for the show, but thankfully, we’re surrounded by an incredible support system. From family to friends, we have an entire village behind us.

If there are two words that keep bouncing around in my head lately, they are "I’m tired." I know, not the most groundbreaking revelation, but it's the raw truth. As I sit here writing this, I’m running on fumes and caffeine. Yet, I remind myself that I’m not alone – this is what early parenthood looks like for most of us. Exhausting, yes, but rewarding beyond belief.

Maybe it gets easier? Time will tell.

Until then, I just wanted to check in and say hello to all the amazing listeners and supporters who’ve stuck by me. I’ve missed you. I’m glad to be back doing what I love: waking up the SouthCoast, championing local businesses and giving back to the community that’s shaped who I am for the past 14 years. Your support has never gone unnoticed.

Lastly, I'm beyond thankful for my MGM Show team: Michael Rock, Michaela Johnson and our newest behind-the-scenes addition, Matthew Barth, who took over the logistics and my job like an absolute pro. I’ve missed them all dearly and couldn’t be more grateful for holding down the fort during my time away. I never had any doubt, this crew is the real deal.

Dad life is a beautiful, humbling, chaotic and magical thing. I’ll never take it for granted. I’ll embrace every moment, every smile, every cry, every late-night feeding for as long as I’m blessed to do so.

It’s good to be back, but even better to make it home for those late-morning snuggles with my boy.
