Fun 107 Announces WPRI 12 Weather Partnership
Fun 107 is proud to announce a brand-new weather partnership with WPRI 12, bringing even more trusted local forecasting to listeners across the SouthCoast. Starting immediately, longtime WPRI 12 morning meteorologist T.J. Del Santo will join the Fun 107 lineup with regular weather updates every morning.
T.J.'s forecasts on Fun 107 will be tailor-made specifically for the SouthCoast. As we know, just because it's snowing or raining in Boston or Providence doesn't mean we're seeing anything here in New Bedford or Fall River.
Del Santo's Background
Del Santo is no stranger to New England weather. He’s been forecasting at WPRI 12 for nearly three decades and has seen it all, from blizzards to hurricanes to tornadoes.
“I remember one tornado a couple years ago in Rhode Island,” Del Santo recalled. “I went out and inspected the damage. I’ve also seen some pretty dramatic erosion around Horseneck Beach during Hurricane Sandy about 10 years ago. Those storms really stand out.”

Raised in Riverside, Rhode Island, Del Santo grew up just two streets away from Fun 107’s Michaela Johnson.
“It’s funny, we practically lived across from each other,” Michaela laughed. “And now here we are again working together.” Michaela worked on The Rhode Show on WPRI for 12 years.
A Challenging Road to Meteorology
Becoming a meteorologist wasn’t easy. Del Santo shared that the path to his career required determination and plenty of math. “It was very challenging,” he said. “We started with about a hundred people in my class and by junior year only about 45 were left. There were times I wanted to give up, but I stuck with it.”
Now SouthCoast listeners can count on Del Santo’s expertise every morning on Fun 107. Whether it’s sunshine, rain, or snow, he’ll keep you prepared for the day ahead.
