The weather will quickly go downhill Tuesday afternoon as a snowstorm moves into Southern New England. Snow will develop by mid-afternoon, and it may be moderate to heavy during the evening commute. Snow will be heavy at times Tuesday night. The wind will increase to 20-40 mph, and the temperature will dive into the teens. Blizzard conditions are possible in far Eastern MA.

Accumulating snow will end from west to east Wednesday morning. The snow should stop accumulating in Fall River / New Bedford by 9-10 am, and on Cape Cod by around noon. The highest snow totals from this storm may be in coastal Southeastern Massachusetts, where a foot is possible. It will be a dry, fluffy snow that will be blown around into drifts. Wednesday afternoon will become partly cloudy, blustery, and cold, with highs only near 20.
