Way back in December of 2021, we told you about Netflix's plan to turn Anthony Doerr’s Pulitzer Prize-winning bestseller, All The Light We Cannot See, into a limited series starring a Rhode Island actress in the lead role.

Aria Mia Loberti makes her acting debut in this epic undertaking that also stars Hugh Laurie and Mark Ruffalo. And she just happened to land this part after a worldwide search for blind and low-vision actresses.

Loberti, who is herself blind, plays the novel's lead female role of Marie-Laure, a blind teenager who meets Werner, a German soldier, as they both try to survive World War II in occupied France.

The entire project was helmed by Shawn Levy, the producer of Stranger Things, but their is nothing strange about this series first trailer.

A lengthy teaser trailer was released about a week ago and it certainly has me intrigued to watch.

From just watching this trailer, it seems Loberti had a lot of dramatic acting to do and does it well. Although there is not a single word spoken in the entire two and a half minute teaser, it's hard not to feel all the emotion behind this story.

Personally I am thrilled they chose to turn this novel into a limited series, rather than try to cram everything into a 2-hour long movie. There are just too many interconnecting stories here to make that possible if you ask me.

Sadly, the trailer is all we get for now however.  All The Light We Cannot See doesn't have an official release date until November 2, 2023.
